In Naples there are three railway stations: 'Napoli Centrale', 'Mergellina' and 'Campi Flegrei' (most of the trains arrive at Napoli Centrale). The subway is on the same line of the national railway, and all these three stations are on this line. If you are in 'Napoli Centrale' you have to take the subway in the direction 'Pozzuoli' (the name of the subway stop which is under the railway terminal is 'Piazza Garibaldi'), from the other two stations you have to choose the direction 'Gianturco'. The ticket is called 'giranapoli' and it is also valid for buses, within 1 hour and a half and with only one subway trip allowed.
If you are going to the hotel Ruggiero or Pinto Storey you should get off at the station 'Piazza Amedeo'. The exit of the subway station is just on 'piazza Amedeo': at the opposite side of the square, turning right you enter via Martucci: a few meters after the beginning of this street there is your hotel.

If your hotel is one of the following:

1. Royal
2. Rex
3. Mediterraneo
4. Napoli t'amo
5. Toledo,

it is convenient to get off at the subway stop named 'Montesanto' and look at the map at the bottom of this page. The hotels are indicated by a red (not blue!) disk and numbered according to the above list, the subway exit ('Montesanto') is indicated by a red disk with an 'M'. From the exit of the subway you have to go ahead. The hotels, except 'pensione Margherita' are at walking distance (about 15-25 min.) but of course it is unconfortable if you have luggage (that is why we recommended a taxi).
The hotel 'pensione Margherita' is on the same building as the (top) terminal of the funicular railway 'funicolare centrale', however from 'Montesanto' it is convenient to catch another funicolar railway: the 'funicolare di Montesanto' (funicular terminals are indicated on the map by a brown disk with an 'F', this one is near the red disk 'M') is about 50 meters far from the subway exit. You can use the same ticket. Get off at the last stop (this funicular railway has only four stops) and exit the terminal. Cross the road, and go ahead about 40 meters: you find stairs. Go down the stairs, then cross the road and again you can find stairs after about 40 meters walking (you see a church on the left). Go down these further stairs and then turn left: walk for about 100 meters and then turn right: you find again stairs. Go down these stairs, and then you can see the hotel on the left.
